Professor to Expand Teaching Skills

Dr. Tammy Byron, an associate professor of history at Dalton State College, was recently selected as a participant for the academic symposia as part of the Governor's Teaching Fellows program. These symposia will be at the University of Georgia approximately once a month (for three days per month) during the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Governor’s Teaching Fellows program aims to increase the quality of Georgia’s educators in higher education. It provides higher education faculty the opportunity to learn about innovative, important teaching skills, including the use of emerging technologies and instructional tools that cater to the present society.

“Participating in the Governor's Teaching Fellows program will provide me with even greater opportunities to develop my skills as a teacher,” said Byron. “I'm truly passionate about teaching and am excited to be a part of the program that will allow me to share my methods and enthusiasm while also learning from others from around the state.”

A big hearty congratulations to Byron in her acceptance to the program! Dalton State is proud to have great professors who make a difference.
